Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

May 26, 2020:

Hello Nova Families!

We are excited to be able to start our regular class schedule back up on June 1st! We have been offering makeup classes since May 18th and will continue to do so until May 30th. We want to thank all our families for their cooperation as we get back into the swing of things. You have helped make this transition easy for us!

While we cannot offer zero risk of exposure to others, we can limit exposure to your child’s class, which we plan to do through unique scheduling and creative protocols that take all precautions, including social distancing, into account. It is our intention now, and in the weeks and months to come, to follow recommendations from officials, but we know many of you are anxious to get even a glimpse of what classes will look like this summer. That being said, here is an overview of our current initiatives:

  • All classes will begin at their scheduled time and will be 50 minutes in length. This is to give us time to turn the gym over before the next class. During this time, our staff will thoroughly sanitize and setup the gym for the next class.
  • We ask that you be ready to pick your child up on time and that you do not drop your child off early to prevent crowding as we turn the gym over.
  • Only students may enter the building and one parent, no siblings may enter if they are not enrolled in a class at that time. This is to ensure we stay at our 25% capacity restriction as well as keeping the gym clean and sanitized. Parents are not required for your child to attend class, but we understand during this time you may want to check in and we understand that. Please keep in mind, parents viewing areas will be standing room only, there will be no chairs or bleachers to use.
  • For Tiny Stars classes that require a parent, only one parent may enter and participate in class with the child.
  • Class structure may look a little different as we limit the amount of mats and equipment being used to limit the spread of germs.
  • Students may only bring a water bottle into the gym, as our water fountains will not be available. No other items should be brought in, including shoes to limit the spread if germs. Cubbies will not be in use at this time.
  • We ask that the parent drops or walks their child to the front door where they will be greeted by one of our staff members.
  • During classes, all coaches will practice no contact coaching.
During the month of June, we will be focusing on the safety within our class program. With that being said, we have decided to not hold any specials events in the month of June. We will pick our regular special events back up in July at limited capacity, so we encourage you to enroll early if you plan to attend.

Thank you!
Nova Gymnastics

May 8, 2020:

Hello Nova Families!

We are excited to announce how we will begin to open our facilities back up over the next few weeks!

Beginning next week, May 11th-16th, our office will be open and staffed during our business hours. We invite you to call or stop in for any questions or needs you may have! Our pro shop will also be open and fully stocked with fresh items and specials!

The weeks of May 18th-30th we will resume classes for makeups only. So if you have classes that need to be made up, you may begin booking these classes on Monday, May 11th during our office hours. We will have a cap of only 5 students per class in order to practice social distancing during class and remain under the state orders of only operating at 25% of our facilities capacity. We will allow you to schedule up to two makeups at a time opposed to our normal policy of only one. During these weeks, we will have special guidelines.

  • All classes will begin at their scheduled time and will be 50 minutes in length. This is to give us time to turn the gym over before the next class. During this time our staff will thoroughly sanitize and setup the gym for the next class.
  • We ask that you be ready to pick your child up on time and that you do not drop your child off early to prevent crowding as we turn the gym over.
  • Only students may enter the building, no parents or siblings may enter. This is to ensure we stay at our 25% capacity restriction as well as keeping the gym as clean and sanitized.
  • For Tiny Stars classes that require a parent, only one parent may enter and participate in class with the child.
  • Students may only bring a water bottle into the gym, as our water fountains will not be available. No other items should be brought in, including shoes.
  • We ask that the parent drops or walks their child to the front door where they will be greeted by one of our staff members.
  • During classes, all coaches will practice no contact coaching.
Our plan is to resume classes June 1st as normal! As we receive more information that will be released, our number one focus is the safety of our students and staff.

While we understand that many are ready to return to our facilities now, we also understand that not everyone is just yet. What we wanted to do is open our doors and leave the option of returning up to the families. For those not ready to return just yet, we will still be honoring your makeups as long as your child remains enrolled in our program.

With that said, our primary goal is to keep our students and staff members safe and healthy during this transition back into the gym, and I confidently feel we can do that!

We can’t wait to see everyone back in the gym!

April 22, 2020:

Good afternoon,

We are excited that Texas has begun reopening the state…which means we are getting closer to opening our doors and welcoming you all back in! With the current plans and information that has been communicated to date, we plan to open back up for our recreational classes on June 1st! Keep in mind that this could change, but we are hopeful to kick off the summer months with all of you!

If that wasn’t enough excitement for one email, no worries! We have more for you! We now have Virtual Classes for all recreational level students, and y’all, they are amazing!

Enroll in Nova Gymnastics Virtual Classes! Tuition is a flat $40 per class type (Preschool Gymnastics, Girls Gymnastics, Boys Gymnastics, and Tumbling) and that includes one new video released each Sunday (minimum of four videos per month) with unlimited access for the month! You can enroll today by CLICKING HERE. Payment is due at the time of enrollment. We do not offer prorated tuition, due to the fact that you have unlimited access to the videos for the full month.

Moving into May, in order to keep your gymnast enrolled in our program, there is a $10 program holder fee for each student. This fee covers fees we accrue with having a child enrolled in our program and unfortunately those fees don’t stop when we are closed. Fees such as liability insurance, our class software program to store your families information, as well as all progress our students have made in classes, and of course the pay of our amazing front desk ladies who have been answering the phones and emails while we have been closed! As our thank you to you for staying with us through this time, a FREE Fun Friday or Daytime Playtime Pass will be added to you account to use when you’re ready!

If you are enrolled in our Auto-pay Program there is no action needed on your part, we will process the $10 program holder fee on the last business day of the month. If you are not enrolled in our Auto-pay Program you can simply login to your Parent Portal account and take care of your fees or you can give us a call and we will take care of that for you over the phone. You can also email us at Cedar Hill or Midlothian.

For families who chose the April Loyalty Tuition of $55, your benefits are already reflected on your students account. All make ups are ready to be scheduled just as soon as we open back up and your free passes are noted on your account. As long as you are still enrolled in our program, by paying the program holder fee you will not lose any benefits that you have paid for!

We will continue to answer calls from 10am-3pm Monday-Wednesday and emails daily to answer any questions you may have!

Our main goal during this time is to be there the best we can for all of you and offer our support in the best way we know how! We love all of our families and the sport of gymnastics! We are working hard to ensure Nova is even better than it was the first time you loved it!

Until the next update, stay healthy and safe, we miss you all!

April 6, 2020:

Good afternoon,

Just a reminder, April tuition is due.

In order to be able to plan the best we can and to have a better understanding of the classes needed when we open back up, we have two options for each student to choose from. If you choose to simply withdraw at this time, although we hope that is not the case, we understand. Please submit your drop email to Cedar Hill or Midlothian and we will get that taken care of for you.

Option 1: Pay the $55 loyalty tuition (per enrolled class) as discussed in previous emails, this option will include unlimited make ups for missed classes during our closure as well as two free passes to either our Fun Friday or Daytime Playtime events.

-OR-

Option 2: Pay $10 spot holder tuition in order to keep your gymnast enrolled in their current class as well as one free pass to either our Fun Friday or Daytime Playtime events.

If you are one of our families who is on scheduled autopay, cards were not ran on the last day of March. Please contact us through one of the email addresses above or give us a call for us to process payment. You can also log into your parent portal account to make a payment as well.

We will be working hard to answer emails, calls, and questions over these next few weeks. Our staff is committed to getting in contact with you and making sure you are aware of your options, so if we don’t hear from you, we will reach out!

We will be processing drops for our unpaid students on Monday, April 13th. We will attempt to call each family twice before we process any drops. If we have left a message for you already and you would like to stay enrolled please give us a call back.

Our main goal during this time is to be there the best we can for all of you and offer our support in the best way we know how! We love all of our families and the sport of gymnastics! We will continue to post Nova Gymnastics at Home with Coach Chelsi videos for everyone to participate in, adding fun weekly activities for your families to do together, and post challenges from our coaches so your kiddos can see their favorite faces around the gym! We are working hard to ensure Nova is even better than it was the first time you loved it!

Until the next update, stay healthy and safe! We miss you all!

April 1, 2020:

Good afternoon,

As many of you know that Governor Abbott extended the restrictions for the State of Texas until April 30th and mentioned that it could be extended further if needed. Right now, we feel the best way to move forward is to wait for an official release of the restrictions before we put out anymore proposed dates of opening back up.

In order to be as fair as possible, we did not run any autopay accounts during this time. All tuition has been set to the $55 (per class). If you chose Option 1 you can simply log into your Parent Portal account and take care of your fees or you can give us a call and we will take care of that for you over the phone. If you choose Option 2 you can email us at cedarhill@nova-gymnastics.com or midlothian@nova-gymnastics.com or give us a call and let us know that you would like to take advantage of that spot holder option and we will get your account updated for you.

We will be working hard to answer emails, calls, and questions over these next few weeks. Our staff is committed to getting in contact with you and making sure you are aware of your options, so if we don’t hear from you, we will reach out!

Our main goal during this time is to be there the best we can for all of you and offer our support in the best way we know how! We love all of our families and the sport of gymnastics! March 26, 2020:

Good evening Nova Families,

Just a quick update from us here at Nova. Our plan still remains to open our doors back up on Saturday, April 4, 2020. In the meantime, our leadership staff is still working hard! We have begun making calls to all 1,200 of our families to make sure you all get any questions answered you may have; we are here for you through this! Our goal is, if we haven’t spoken to you since our closure to give you a call by Monday evening and touch base! 1,200 may seem like a lot of calls, but it’s a small task to show how much we care!

If you missed our email last week, we have a discounted loyalty tuition rate for April, just a way to say thank you for sticking with us during this crazy time. All accounts have already been updated with the discounted tuition, so no need to call in to receive it!

We have our phones being forwarded to our amazing front desk staff at home, from 10am – 3pm Monday - Friday to make sure you can reach us if needed!

We have already put absences in for all missed classes and opened over 39 class designated just to our current families to fulfill all make ups that will need to be scheduled! So don’t worry, we will take care of you, just as soon as we open our doors back up!

If for some unfortunate reason the restriction date is extended and possibly pushed into May, no May tuition will be added to any active family’s accounts until our doors are open! As long as you have paid your April’s discounted tuition, you will stay enrolled in your class and your family will remain active members with us! Now, let’s all pray that doesn’t happen, because we miss all of you and gymnastics!

If you haven’t been following us on Facebook or our YouTube channel, go check us out! We have been posting daily activities as well as way to get some gymnastics practice at home!

We love you all and thank you for your support!

Help keep us “rolling” during this time!

March 19, 2020:

Good evening Nova Families,

We are a little sad about not getting to welcome you all back in the gym on March 30th. But we could not be more excited and relieved to have a date given to us by Texas Governor Abbott. As many of you know schools, restaurants, gyms, and other organizations across the state will have restrictions lifted on April 3rd. In the meantime, let’s all do our part in following the guidelines set for us, so we can stay safe, healthy and get back to the normalcy of our lives!

If you missed our email yesterday, we have a discounted loyalty tuition rate for April, just a way to say thank you for sticking with us during this crazy time. All accounts have already been updated with the discounted tuition, so no need to call in to receive it!

Our Cedar Hill gym is taking calls tomorrow from 10 am – 3 pm and next week Monday - Friday 10 am – 2 pm.

Until our next update, I have some special messages that our staff wanted to share with all their families!

March 18, 2020:

Good afternoon,

We understand many families are living with the same uncertainty that we are here at Nova Gymnastics. We want to take the time to let you know what our plan is, how we plan to move forward, and how we can better serve you during these unsure times.

Nova Gymnastics will follow the guidance of Dallas County Officials during this time. When they deem it safe for us to reopen our doors, we will. Over these next few days/weeks our leadership team is still working hard to prepare for your families return. We are conducting a deep clean of both our Cedar Hill and Midlothian facilities, we are answering phones at our Cedar Hill location and responded to all emails and messages as quickly as we can, and we are revamping and putting hours into our programs to ensure your families have the best gymnastics instruction when you return. Even though many things may be uncertain at this time, there is one thing I know for sure, that with the help and support of our Nova Gymnastics families we will get through these uncertain times together and your gym home will be ready to welcome you back.

Our plan remains the same, to open all classes and special events back up on Monday, March 30th. This is with the assumption that Dallas County restrictions will be lifted on Friday, March 20th. If we have any changes to this plan, we will update you all.

In the meantime, we have a lot of fun plans over this time to keep your kids engaged. We have started a virtual program called, “Nova Gymnastics at Home with Coach Chelsi”. This program is completely free to not only our active students but to any families who wish to participate. You can follow our daily learning videos on our YouTube channel with the link below.

NOVA Gymnastics At Home with Coach Chelsi

If you do not already like us on Facebook, go follow along. We are posting fun activities daily for families to do at home together.

NOVA on Facebook

We understand that many families do not want to lose their child’s current class time. We are offering a loyalty tuition for the month of April for only $55 per hourly recreational student during this time. If your student is enrolled in more than one hour of weekly instruction the rates are as stated below. The amounts are the same regardless of age or class type.

2 Classes per Week: $110 Monthly Tuition

3 Classes per Week: $165 Monthly Tuition

All Team Tuition will remain the same as of now.

If you are currently enrolled in our AutoPay program, you do not have to call to take advantage of these savings, your card will automatically be processed with the amounts above. If you are not enrolled in our AutoPay program your account balances will be adjusted and you can pay your balances by calling our Cedar Hill facility at 972-291-6682 or by logging into your Parent Portal account through the link below.

Parent Portal

All missed classes will still be honored with unlimited Makeups with the above tuition, as long as you are actively enrolled in our program and tuition is current. We have opened over 28 classes so far that are designated just to house students who are making up with plans to open more over the next few days.

We want to continue our support to all of you and hope you will do the same for us during this time.

We are always here for you, and hope you stay healthy and safe.

Thank you for your unending support,

Rina Hale

March 16, 2020:

At this time Nova Gymnastics will be closing effective March 17, 2020 with plans to reopen on Monday, March 30th. This closure comes from the announcement of Dallas County officials required business closures and our concern for the safety and well being of our families here at Nova.

Our leadership team has met, and we have an aggressive make up plan that will roll out next month in order to ensure we have room for all students to make up missed classes. We ask that you stick with us over these next few weeks, and we will make sure all our Nova families are taken care of. Our makeup policy will remain in effect, all enrolled families who are current on their tuition will have unlimited makeups free of charge.

Because this situation is complex and ever-changing, our plans may change. We ask for your patience while we take the necessary precautions. We promise to keep you all updated, you can find the most up to date information on our website, our business Facebook page, and email.

Thank you all for your support during this time,

Nova Gymnastics

March 13, 2020:

Good morning!

Nova Gymnastics is committed to the safety and health of all families who choose to share time with us. With the concern around the Coronavirus Disease 2019, as well as other viruses, we are taking precautionary measures and implementing the following actions effective immediately on top of our regular cleaning and facility maintenance.

  • We asked that if at all possible, students are dropped off for their class time and we keep as many visitors out of our lobby. We understand with our preschool age students that may not be feasible and we understand parents needing to stay during their class.
  • We ask that if you or our students have been around anyone that has been sick, that you keep them home in order to be able to monitor them before returning to class.
  • We ask that any student that has been sick, that they are free of any and all symptoms for 48 hours before returning back to class.
  • Nova staff will be staffed at all doors coming into our facilities at the start of class times. All guest entering into our facilities will be required to use hand sanitizer before entering. Students will again use it before entering onto the floor for class.
  • Water fountains will not be in use during this time. If your child attends more than one hour of instruction with us in one day, they will need to bring their own water bottle in to drink from in between classes.
  • We ask that only items needing to come in the building are brought it. If you can hold onto your child's jackets, socks, shoes etc. in the car while they are in class, that will be appreciated.
  • We will not be using hand stamps over these next few weeks, this can be hard for preschool age children as they look forward to this reward at the end of class. Please help us communicate to them and that we will be doing it again, just not at this time.
Our staff has hourly cleaning and sanitizing duties they will be doing at the turn over of each class hour. As stated above, this is all precautionary as we take the health of our families and staff very seriously.

We expect to go back to regular operating policies after the end of the month. We do not expect to cancel any classes or special events during this time. We will keep all of our families updated if changes are made.

For ways you can help prevent the spread of germs and viruses in your family and home, please visit https://www.cdc.gov/

Thank you for working with us in order to keep our families healthy!
